3# Triangle Forms
#3 Triangle Forms
WHAT
A fun triangle inspired doodle with lines and hatching.
YOU WILL NEED:
A fine black felt-tip pen (berol or similar), a small brush and water, cartridge paper (or your sketchbook)
INSTRUCTIONS:
Take a few moments to gather together the materials you will need. Clear a space on your table or desk. Take three deep breaths. In through the nose and out the mouth.
Starting near the centre of the page, draw a single diagonal straight line that will form one side of your first triangle. Keep the line flowing and draw two further lines to form a triangle. Fill this first triangle with vertical lines. Take your time and work without distraction.
Draw a second triangle connected to the first. This can be connected by a point, or can use an existing line as one of its sides. Fill this triangle with horizontal lines.
Continue to add triangles to your drawing making sure that each new triangle is connected to a previous one. Vary the orientation of the line pattern that you fill each triangle with (horizontal, vertical, diagonal).
Once you are happy with how your structure is looking, add a couple of soft shadow lines and soften these with water to give the impression of a solid object.
